Traditional Hatha and Yin Yoga

Classes for people of all ages, experience and ability.

A bit about me

Don’t be afraid to give it a try!

Every yoga teacher will be different and finding a teacher and the class that’s right for you is very important so, if the first class you try doesn’t feel right, then don’t be afraid try another one.

I’ve been practicing Hatha yoga for around 20 years, whilst working full time and bringing up 2 children. Having watched my 92yr old mom practice yoga in the 1970’s, it’s something which has always resonated with me and my yoga mat is the place where I can exercise as well a deal with any anxiety or stress. As the physical and mental benefits of yoga are increasingly understood and accepted, I’ve decided to start teaching and hopefully share the benefits with others.
I qualified as a Yoga teacher in 2021 after completing over 250 hours in training and I am also registered as a Yoga professional with Yoga Alliance.

I like to teach traditional Hatha Yoga and have recently enjoyed learning how to teach Yin Yoga (holding poses for longer) and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation), and include some of these techniques in my teaching.

Monday & Wednesday 6.30 to 7.30pm

CLASS LOCATION
Parish Room next to The Sacred Heart & St Teresa Catholic Church. 67 Coventry Rd Coleshill B46 3EA (free parking available in the front drive of the church )

Both classes are for mixed ability so whether you have previously practiced yoga or just want to try it, there will be something for all levels.
If you have any pre-existing conditions or concerns, please message me although I do recommend talking to your GP prior to attending a class, as I am not able to provide medical advice.
As with any type of exercise, it’s very important that you know the limits of your own body and only join in with anything which feels right for you.
Yoga is a non-competitive practice so you should never be in pain or push your body to do something which you are not comfortable with; I'll do my
best to offer alternative poses throughout the class.
In terms of equipment, I have some blocks and mats you can borrow if you don’t have them but do bring along a blanket and a cushion, as these will help you to get the most out the practice and the all important relaxation at the end !

Yoga - the connection of Mind, Body, Breath & Spirit.

Yoga goes much deeper than improving core strength, balance and flexibility but these are still great reasons to practice. Hatha Yoga is over 3000 years old and its practice can become a life long journey for some, whilst others simply enjoy the physical and relaxation benefits. Yoga is predominantly about breath, finding space and time for yourself and enjoying some quiet time on the mat. My aim is to guide people safely through a practice, whatever level they may be at.
